Who is JSSA & Why Did They Come to PBJ?
JSSA (Jewish Social Service Agency) is a health and social wellness organization that has been serving the greater Washington, DC region for more than 120 years. Rooted in Jewish values and a commitment to shared humanity, they provide high-quality services to individuals and families across Montgomery County, MD, Northern Virginia, and Washington, DC regardless of religious background, race, or ethnicity.
Among their many services, JSSA offers both hospice care and home care to support individuals and families through some of life's most difficult moments. Their hospice services provide compassionate end-of-life care, while their home care services allow individuals to receive professional support in the comfort of their own homes, helping clients maintain independence and quality of life.
In January 2025, JSSA partnered with PBJ Marketing with a clear objective: to strengthen their local search presence and expand their reach across Montgomery County, MD, Northern Virginia, and Washington, DC. Operating in a highly competitive landscape for both hospice and home care services, JSSA needed to stand out in search results and convert that visibility into meaningful leads.
Our Strategy
To build a strong local search foundation, PBJ began with a full technical SEO audit, identifying and resolving underlying performance issues that were limiting the site's ability to rank competitively. From there, the team implemented a comprehensive geo-optimization strategy, creating dedicated local landing pages for hospice and home care services across key Montgomery County cities giving JSSA a targeted presence in the specific communities its patients and families were searching from.
New content was added across their service pages to better align with local search intent and create authority, while Google Business Profiles were optimized to reinforce JSSA's presence in local map results.
A deliberate internal linking structure was layered in to connect the new local pages back to core service pages, strengthening the site's overall authority and helping search engines understand the relationship between JSSA's services and the communities they serve.

Organic traffic across every metric saw double-digit growth year over year. From January 2025 through May 2026, JSSA's organic sessions increased by nearly 19%, with engaged sessions up over 19% - a sign that more of the right people are finding and staying on the site.
Search Visibility Surged 34%

JSSA's local visibility reached new heights across Google Search and Maps. Monthly views on search peaked at 8,259 and maps views held steady growth throughout the engagement, reflecting stronger local presence for JSSA's hospice and home care services.
65% More Impressions. More Eyes, More Opportunity.

Clicks and impressions surged as JSSA claimed more real estate on the SERP. Total clicks grew from 17K to 18.2K while impressions jumped from 550K to 908K year over year, signaling that JSSA's content is reaching a substantially larger audience in search.
Chatbot Engagement Jumped Nearly 10x

LLM chatbot engagement grew nearly 10x in under a year. After launching JSSA's campaign in January 2025, monthly sessions climbed from just 22 to a peak of 205, reflecting a significant increase in users actively seeking information and getting to the website from various LLM tools.
