WordPress 4.4 Introduces More Inclusive Changes

To start the New Year off with a bang, WordPress recently announced the launch of version 4.4, and it’s coming with some pretty significant changes. At PBJ, we understand that User Experience is more than skin deep. Even the most visually engaging website loses its luster quickly if it’s difficult to navigate, hard to find, or thin on content. Almost anyone can build a website, but can they create a site that’s fully integrated with your marketing and servicing programs? Loads quick and plays nice with search engines? One that features the analytics and reporting you need to demonstrate maximum ROI? PBJ can – and does. And with mobile devices taking over our day-to-day interaction with the web, users are expecting exceptional mobile experiences.New features coming with WordPress 4.4 include the following:

  • Responsive Images – Every image uploaded to a WordPress site will be automatically responsive. This means the size will adapt based on a user's device and browser dimensions, resulting in a much more streamlined user experience.
  • Embeddable Posts – With version 4.4, WordPress expanded its embeddable content options, allowing embeddable articles across multiple WordPress pages. According to the announcement: “Simply drop a post URL into the editor and see an instant embed preview, complete with the title, excerpt, and featured image if you’ve set one. We’ll even include your site icon and links for comments and sharing.”
