The numbers are in and the holiday season provided a big boost to final quarter consumer spending in 2016, according to a recent report from the U.S. Census Bureau.
The report indicates that during the three-month period, e-commerce sales hit $89.1 billion, marking a 14.7% increase over the final quarter of 2014. In comparison, overall retail sales – including online and offline – were up 1.3% on a year-over-year basis.
